Well, as many of you know I have moved to Edmonton. I was actually here at the end of October, but I am just now finding the time to update here. Let me say something: I hate it here. It's too bloody cold, it's too flat, and nobody can drive here. The _only_ reason I am here is because my son is here. I was only here for all of three days when I got a call from my mom saying that my grandma had passed away, so back to BC I went.

I have gotten myself a job at a cable supply warehouse. It's not too bad. I make good money, and have the satisfaction of working a hard, physical shift every day. The biggest problem is the commute. When weather is good it takes just over twenty minutes, totally reasonable. But when it has snowed, or is snowing, that can go as high as two hours. Totally rediculous. I hate Edmonton. I did eight years here when I was younger, and I truly thought I was finally done here. No such luck.

Unfortunately at the end of the day I rarely feel like sitting up on the computer, so I will not be updating this site very much, nor presumably, will I be writing much code. I have unsubscribed from all the programming mailing lists I was reading because I find I have no time to keep up with them, as so I cannot justify the bandwidth or server load to collect them any more.

Also, I am being hammered by link spammers. I had to remove the comments from the front page because it was so unseemly. I may well just chuck the whole damn thing because I can't be bothered to fight against this bullshit. All I can say is that it fills my heart with real sadness that some people feel the need to totally destroy something free and good, created from the sweat and toil of those who simply wanted to create something great and share it with the world. Congrats to all spammers who take this wonderful thing and shit all over it so no one can enjoy it. Congrats.
