Wow. Sorry for my last two posts. Pretty venemous. Anyway, I'm over it.

KDE needs help!

Caleb Tennis has sent a message to the gentoo-dev list saying that the kde-herd is in crisis. There is also a blurb here which explains how mere mortal users can help out with the effort. I have spent the better part of today rummaging through KDE bugs myself, but sadly, I could only find a few that I actually knew how to effect some change on.

Please, if you have the knowledge consider spending some time helping out with this. KDE is too important for Gentoo to lose.

Comments gone

In other news, my site has been completely purged of all comments. I just don't have the time or inclination to clean up all the spam, and hardly anyone ever leaves a comment anyway. If you have something to say to me just fire off an email. If it is particularily cool/enlightening I will just add it to the page manually.

That said, thanks to everyone who did leave a message, they were appreciated ;)

sparc dying

And last but not least, I am pretty sure my Sun Ultra 60 is dying. It has started acting really flaky, and there are constant messages spewing from Openboot about something or other. Bad memory I think. I will have to do some troubleshooting and take it to the -sparc list.

Speaking of troubleshooting, Self-Service Linux - Mastering the Art of Problem Determination is a really cool book about troubleshooting Linux systems. It is part of Bruce Perens' Open Source Series. There is a free, online pdf version, though I can't seem to find it now. You can also get it through all the usual channels (note: that is not an affiliate link, I don't whore myself for amazon. I just buy lots of books from them ;))

That is all...
